Warranty Clerk

Department: Maintenance
Location: West Warwick, RI

Warranty Clerk Needed for Auto Hauling Company!

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

"Essential functions" are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

  • Support the continuous tracking of warranty information/claims/payment.
  • Assess and determine if a claim qualifies for reimbursement.
  • Interact with service centers, management and corporate office via phone and written communication.
  • Meet all deadlines by ensuring timely warranty processing and compliance as well as fiscal responsibility.
  • Assist shop parts department and mechanics with warranty procedures/practices.

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  

  • Basic knowledge of automotive warranty.
  • Ability to negotiate and understand repair estimates using standard labor times.
  • Ability to distinguish what is warranty and what is not based on vendor estimates.
  • Experience in warranty collection and procedures, Paccar, Cummins, Eaton preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of warranty claim submission with OEM’s and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of TMT and PeopleNet a plus.
  • Knowledge of parts scrapping/retention for supplier inspection.
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize many different tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a fast pace environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with peers, staff and external service locations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with external vendors about their warranty obligations.
  • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving.
  • Basic knowledge of how to obtain parts to support repair facilities if needed.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties.  Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed dispatchers and drivers.
  • Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
