Department: Auto Hauler Recruiting
Location: West Warwick, RI

The Driver Recruiter is esponsible for the development and implementation of the strategic recruitment plan, developing metrics to measure and report on all recruitment and retention efforts. Develops and maintains a positive relationship with Auto Haulers. Ensures that the candidate pipeline is filled and moving. Ensures all recruiting practices are in compliance with applicable DOT federal, state and local regulations pertaining to equal opportunity, immigration and company policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.

  • Attend job fairs, driving schools, promotional events to recruit drivers.
  • Accepts, reviews, and processes applications for selection.
  • Interviews applicants, conducts background checks, processes Motor Vehicle Reports and DAC      reports, and ensures compliance with all DOT and company hiring standards.
  • Utilizes Applicant Tracking software.
  • Coordinates and schedules new hires for orientation.
  • Records applications and scans documents into computer system.
  • Introduces company benefits to driver and oversees the orientation process including proper introduction of our company culture.
  • Complete and set up personnel file and forward to HR. This must be done of the first day of hire.
  • Ongoing interface with senior management to accurately identify and respond to existing and upcoming driver staffing needs.


 Three - five years of recruiting experience, preferably auto-hauling experience.

  1. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and TMW.
  2. Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships.
  4. Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening) with motivational ability.
  5. Strong leader and team player.
  6. Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  7. Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed dispatchers and drivers.
  8. Must be familiar with DOT requirements.
  9. Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
